What happens in a session?

       Each session covers different material. Session one begins with an information elicitation so that we can determine your challenges and tailor your program to address your specific needs. Then we make you aware of what exactly is going on inside your mind so you will understand the value of the strategies and techniques that we will show you and how they can and will solve the problems that are holding you back from optimal performance. We finish that session with an exercise which will help you during competition.                                               Over the next couple of sessions we show you how to deal with difficult emotions as well as reveal various techniques you can use to develop mental skills that will clear self-limiting programs and replace them with empowering beliefs. In the fourth session we address any lingering issues and tie everything together you walk away with your mental game tight, your performance level raised and better equipped to face the competition and achieve your goals! 

How much time between sessions?

      Ideally a week between sessions seems to work out the best. This way you retain what you learned the week before and we can cement in those lessons and build up from there. Of course there is always the option of exercising  flexibility in scheduling without suffering any discernible drop off in results achieved.

What's the difference between mental toughness training and sport psychology work?

   With many sports psychologists the emphasis is on visualizations of executing proper form while performing as well as a variety of positive affirmations  along with some very good advice. Many will address issues around confidence, discipline and motivation.  Certainly there is value in these techniques and I applaud the dedicated professionals who serve the athletic community well. Many of those who are leaders in the field do good work with those who play at high levels , many professional and collegiate programs have a professional on staff as part of their program. In fact there are some professional athletes who understand just how valuable it is to have the counsel of a professional and end up hiring their own personal mental coach. At these higher levels of competition it is no secret how important it is to take care of the mental game to enable the athlete to perform at optimum levels. Unfortunately for those competing at less than D-1 level in college, at the high school level or in youth leagues there is almost no one there to serve their needs. 

  In our program we not only address the above mentioned areas but also go directly to the hidden reasons behind the performance deficiencies and clear this interference where the problems actually dwell, right at their core. Now good advice is great but not much use unless you can explain EXACTLY HOW TO "play more relaxed" or "be confident" and exactly what they need to do in order to become an ABSOLUTELY FEARLESS COMPETITOR!        Think of the difference between reading in a book about what you should do or how you should play and actually being shown real world methods that demonstrates exactly what the athlete needs to do to achieve consistent excellence! This is what WE do, which is to share with them the exact steps they need to take in order to change the things that are causing the mental interference which is preventing them from performing their best during the competition in spite of any pressure they might be feeling. It is very important to not only tell them what they need to do but also give them the formula to help them understand HOW to accomplish those things. In short our program not only compliments the work of a sports psychologist but we are there for those who need these skills the most, the amatuer sportsmen and women who take their game seriously and for the youth athletes who aspire to one day get that sports scholarship and perhaps even the chance to go even beyond that level someday. We are here ready to direct their transformation towards excellence and take their game to a whole new level of play!

     Some athletes experience remarkable results. Most see at least significant improvement. The development of physical abilities depends upon the time and energy the player puts into practice. One has to do the drills to gain the skills. The same is true with mental practice. I can guarantee that I will give you 100% of my efforts and teach you everything i have to ensure you improve performance and achieve all of your goals.
